Many of my pieces are painted with acrylic paint on pieces of scrap wood recycled from various construction sites. Turning a piece of scrap that would have normally ended up in a landfill and turning it into a beautiful piece of art is something I take pride in and consider that to be one of the philosophical foundations for my art. Some pieces are done in conjunction with friend and fellow artist, Alex Spencer and are signed and sold by both artists. Pieces vary from rich blended colors on wood to pieces with simple subjects with deep, rich colorful backrounds. Some pieces have subtle images produced by carving on the wood before applying paint. I have sold some pieces in Colorado and some in Southern California through contacts made by art representative, critic and private collector John Lewis and his private art Gallery, JLGalleries. |
